Artist Statement

My work delves into the intricate interplay of forms and spaces that define my artistic exploration. Through the mediums of oil painting and drawing, I embark on a journey of introspection, seeking to unravel the complexities of memory, spirituality, and experience. Drawing inspiration from Gaston Bachelard’s seminal work, “Poetics of Space,” I navigate beyond the surface of tangible forms, delving into the intimate realms of psychological and emotional resonance.

My artistic process is one of continual experimentation, blending structural elements with abstract gestures to create a visual language that speaks to both historical and personal contexts. Much like the Cubists, I revel in the act of deconstruction, breaking down familiar forms into planes of color and shape. Yet, akin to the Renaissance masters, I am drawn to the meticulous attention to detail and symbolic richness that infuses each piece with layers of meaning.

As I traverse the boundaries between representation and abstraction, my work exists in a perpetual state of flux, teetering on the edge of familiarity and obscurity. Each painting becomes a metaphor for the ongoing process of self-discovery and re-evaluation, challenging viewers to contemplate life’s aspirations and the ever-shifting landscapes of identity.
