Client Request:

Jen Carter wanted to organize her existing logo and branding assets. The primary goal was to educate users about life coaching and increase sign-ups through an improved website.

Solution:

To gain a strong understanding of Jen’s target audience and mission, I used my branding questionnaire. This information was used to create a visual storyboard, which communicated the message and mood of her business effectively.

Deliverables:

  • Visual Style Board
  • Brand Guidelines
  • Revised Website

Implementation:

We applied the newly developed branding by updating Jen’s Squarespace site. Key improvements included:

  1. Branding Integration:
    • Applied the new branding guidelines to the website’s colors, fonts, and visual assets.
  2. Visual Assets:
    • Designed and added new visual assets to enhance the website’s aesthetic appeal.
  3. UI/UX Enhancements:
    • Focused on UI/UX layouts to improve information hierarchy and the user’s journey.
    • Ensured that the website effectively communicated what life coaching is and the services Jen provides, facilitating a better understanding for users and promoting sign-ups.

Social Media Graphics

Dwolla

Objective

As their Senior Graphic Designer, I worked with the Marketing to create social media graphics, carousels, and google ads to promote events, product releases, and new blog content to help create engagement and drive traffic to website. Ensured graphics built brand identity in the platforms.

Infographics | Process

Need:

As a Senior Visual Designer for a Fintech company, my role was to assist the Marketing and Product teams in clearly and concisely communicating product integration, financial processes, and benefits to clients through visuals. Graphics, beyond their aesthetic appeal, serve as standalone or supplementary tools to effectively convey complex concepts.

Collaboration Process:

The following is an example in how I use design process to work closely with a subject matter expert (SME) when creating accurate and impactful visuals. By collaborating, we can combine my creative expertise with the SME’s deep understanding of the content, ensuring our graphics are both visually appealing and informative to effectively communicate complex ideas to our audience.

  1. Initial Meeting:
    • Meet with the SME or Product Marketing Manager to discuss the information that needs to be portrayed in the infographic.
  2. Industry Research:
    • Research existing examples in the industry and online to identify common ways concepts are represented.
    • Ensure that the icons and imagery used are familiar to communicate ideas to the target audience.
  3. Concept Sketching:
    • Sketch out initial ideas that are unique and original for the infographic.
    • Share the sketches with the SME for feedback and adjustments.
  4. Graphic Design:
    • Create the initial version of the graphic based on the approved sketches.
    • Conduct a review meeting with the SME to ensure accuracy and make necessary adjustments.
  5. Feedback and Refinement:
    • Share the graphic with other individuals for feedback on clarity and understanding of what is being presented.
    • Review feedback with SME and make necessary tweaks.
  6. Final Approval:
    • Submit the final version of the infographic for approval by the Vice President and legal team or those that have say in the design before printing or publishing.
